Mrs. Sheila Dale Scoggins Mitchell, age 74, of Trion, GA, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at her daughter's residence.

Mrs. Mitchell was born September 1, 1951, in Trion, GA, daughter of the late Willie Roy Scoggins and Effie Mae Dunlap Cox.  She was a member of the Harrell Street Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Scoggins; grandmother, Elena Dixon; aunt, Linda Ross; uncles Calvin Dunlap and Robert Owens.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Mitchell; sons, Shannon (Dianna) Scoggins, David (Katie) Mitchell, Jeffery (Jenny) Mitchell; daughters, Sabrina (Randy) Jones, Cherrie Scoggins; a brother, Charles "Sonny" (JoAnn) Scoggins; a sister, Janice Blackmon; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, September 7, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamont Kiser officiating.  Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Nathan Loyd, Michael Scoggins, Timothy Carter, Brandon Scoggins, Daniel Mitchell, Nickalous Mitchell, and Ben Mitchell.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Scoggins and her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Mrs. Mitchell will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
