Mrs. Sharon Jean Norton Stephens, age 70, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Emory University Hospital.

Mrs. Stephens was born April 25, 1952, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Elgin Lee Norton and Betty Jean Dean Norton.  She had been employed with the City of Summerville and the Clerk's Office.  She was also a proud graduate of Chattooga High School Class of 1970 and was a board member of the Chattooga County Historical Society.

Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Stephens; son, Chris Stephens; brother, Gary (Dianne) Norton; sister, Kim (Rod) Powell; grandchildren, Ali and Jonathan; nieces, Heather Trimby, Lindsay Norton, Melissa Kennedy, and Whitney Powell.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 24, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sanford DeBerry and Ms. Whitney Powell officiating.  Interment will follow in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Grant Norton, Cecil Laney, Brad Kennedy, Phil Mountain, Michael Dean, Nathaniel Trimby, and Drake Dodd.  Honorary pallbearers will be her classmates of the Chattooga High School Class of 1970.

Mrs. Stephens will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
