Mrs. Peggy Joyce "Dang Dang" Payton, age 77, of Trion, GA, died Thursday, May 12, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Payton was born June 13, 1944, in Trion, GA, daughter of the late William Paul Suits and Lillia Belle Walker Suits.  She was Baptist by faith, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Shaw Industries.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Don Payton; sisters, Helen Suits, Patsy Suits, and June Tucker; brothers, J.R. Suits, Johnny Suits, and Freddy Suits.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Frankie Payton; daughter, Rhonda Payton; grandchildren, Nicky and Susan Mann, Caleb Payton, Conner Payton, Ashley "A.J." Ayers; and sisters-in-law, Christine Suits and Betty Suits.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Monday, May 16, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Payton officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Nicky Mann, Maverick Suits, Charles Patterson, Jip Edge, "John John" Suits, and Todd Suits.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Payton and Luke Patterson

Mrs. Payton will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Monday.
