Mrs. Opal Ruth Edwards Broyles age 91 of Trion, GA passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Broyles was born November 24, 1932. She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and was famous for cooking her pineapple upside down cakes and cornbread. She also loved to garden and work in her flowers.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Broyles; grandson, Wayne Simmons; step-son, Calvin Lee Broyles; and step-daughters, Brenda Lands & Veda Nell Simmons.

Survivors include her daughter, Willene (JD) Bryan; 1 brother; 11 grandchildren; and several great and great-great- grandchildren.

Graveside & interment services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Broyles will take place at 2:30 EST Wednesday, October 2 at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery  (4183 County Road 59 Dutton, AL) with Bro. Daniel Wooten officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Lands, James Simmons, Jeremy Lands, Donnie Lee Treadaway, Richard Burnette, and Zach White.

Pallbearers & anyone wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.
