Mrs. Kathryn "Kat" Pledger, age 93, of Cumming, GA, died Saturday, August 3, 2024, at The Fountainview Center for Alzheimer's Disease in Atlanta.

Mrs. Pledger was born May 25, 1931, in Berryton, GA, daughter of the late Johnny and Myrtle Hensley Nelson.  She was a homemaker and was previously employed in the insurance industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Cicero Pledger; and a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Sewell Cash.

Mrs. Pledger is survived by her children, Terry (Jeannie) Pledger, Myra (Melvin) Dickerson, Kathy (Bruce) Bergmann; brother, Johnny (Sara) Nelson; grandchildren, Morgan (Adam) Lynn, Josh Pledger, Nicole (Joe) Smith, Doug Buice, Taylor Tardy, Cory Buice, Shane Wood, and Jamie Sellars; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Private graveside inurnment services will be held at a later date at Summerville Cemetery.
