Mrs. Gayle Brenwald, age 69, of Summerville, GA, died Friday, March 18, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Brenwald was born March 19, 1952, in Trion, GA, daughter of Joann King Strickland and the late Carl "Jimmy" Strickland.  She had been a member of the Summerville Church of God and had volunteered for the Chattooga County Family Crisis Center.  She was also a breeder of Norwegian Elkhounds.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Brenwald; son, Kevin (Becky) Payton; daughter, Christy Slayton (Mark Finster); mother, Joann Strickland; brother, Denny (Trena) Strickland; grandchildren, Cody Slayton, Kelby Slayton, and Kaitlyn Payton; great-grandchildren, Zoey Slayton, Ryleigh Slayton, and Kovin Slayton; and a niece, Amy (Stephen) Helms.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 21, 2022, at West Hill Cemetery with Bro. Richard Aimy officiating.  Pallbearers will be Mark Finster, Norville Henderson, Stephen Helms, Tommy Slayton, and Bob Farrow.

Mrs. Brenwald will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. on Monday.
