Mrs. Evelyn Rebecca Evans Houser, age 96, of Trion, GA, died Friday, July 22, 2022, at Advent Health Redmond.

Mrs. Houser was born December 2, 1925, in Rome, GA, daughter of the late P.D. Evans and Winnie Elizabeth "Lizzie" Tate Evans.  She was a member of United Christian Fellowship, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Candlewick Yarns for 9 ½ years.  She had also previously worked at Barwick for 19 years.  She loved flowers and enjoyed crappie fishing.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houser was preceded in death by her first husband, Gurdine W. Ray who was killed in action during World War II in 1944; second husband, George "Benny" Houser; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Eddie Lee Houser, Kenneth (Linda) Houser; daughter, Jeanette Willis; step-brother, Marvin Evans; step-sister, Diane Jiles; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 25, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Howell officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Travis Houser, Tyler Houser, Jeffery Willis, Steve Ivey, Fred Harden, and Jeff Ford.

Mrs. Houser will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Monday.
