Mrs. Ellen Josephine Lawrence Barrett, age 81, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Barrett was born March 31, 1942, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of the late John L. and Emma Lee Black Lawrence.  She attended Redeemed Ministries and prior to her retirement, was employed at Hutcheson Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Barrett; and a brother, John (Doris) Lawerence.

Survivors include her son, William Timothy (Annette) Barrett; daughter, Melissa Dawn Barrett; sister, Carol Ann (Bob) Thomas; grandchildren, William Shields, Brannon Espy, Sydney (David) Salas; and great-grandchildren, Xander Espy, Ezra Salas, and Embyr Salas.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Barrett will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Littlejohn Cemetery with Pastor Darrell Thompson officiating.

Mrs. Barrett will be in state at Ridgeway Baptist Church and the family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
