Mrs. Clara Ray Allen, age 85, of Lyerly, GA, died Thursday, October 6, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Allen was born July 23, 1937, in Gaylesville, AL, daughter of the late Charles Bige and Pearl Speer Ray.  She was a member of Berea Church of Christ, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing.  Mrs. Allen loved her cats and working in her garden.  She was a great caregiver and cared for many family members over their lifetimes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Roger "John" Allen; brothers, Clyde Ray, Bill Ray, Cecil Ray, and Jack Ray; and a sister, Ruby McCullough.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Allen ;  Special Daughter, Karen Haney.

Graveside services for Mrs. Allen were held Friday, October 7, 2022, at Johnson Cemetery with Chaplain Steve Burns officiating.

There will be no visitation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
