Mrs. Cassandra Jean "Sandy" Watkins, age 61, of Summerville, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Watkins was born January 5, 1961, in Summerville, GA, daughter of Joyce Doan Hawkins and the late Harold Hawkins, Sr.  She was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church and had worked as a substitute school teacher with the Chattooga County School System.  She was an excellent drummer and loved to sing karaoke.  She also collected tea cups and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Watkins; sons, Mark (Kayla) Watkins and John Watkins; daughter, Joannie (David) Watson; mother, Joyce Hawkins; brother, Gene (Debra) Hawkins; sister, Alison (Herman) Fletcher; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Watkins will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 22, 2022, at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Dustin Wages, Bryan Payne, and Dawson Cromer.

Mrs. Watkins will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Friday.
