Mr. Willie Jay "Billy" Warren, age 80, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Erlanger Medical Center.

Mr. Warren was born April 23, 1943, in Summerville, GA to Belton Dewight Warren and Savannah Cochran Warren.  He was raised by the late Tommy Johnson and Mildred Warren Johnson.

Mr. Warren attained the rank of E-7 in the United States Army, having served in Vietnam in 1966.  He retired from the Army in March of 1990 and was a meteorologist.  He received a number of awards and certificates.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jo Smith; brothers, James "Jimmy" Warren, Jackie Warren; and a sister, Nancy Gail Warren.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy Jo Phillips Warren; sons, Kenny Phillips, Michael (Katie) Warren, Thomas (Stacy) Warren; daughters, Tina Cox, Rebecca (Jody) Pearson; brother, William Warren; sisters, Martha Reece, Darlene Gilley, Carol Farris, Barbara (Hank) Barns; grandchildren, Jacob Pearson, Megan (Jon) Busbea, Joseph Pearson, Sierra (Chaz) Oakes, Devin Warren, Zayden Warren, Bryce (Amber) Cox, Jamison Warren; great-grandchildren, Marleigh Pearson, Karson Jennings, Kohen Busbea, and Houston Oakes; as well as several nieces and cousins.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Summerville Cemetery with Mr. Jacob Pearson officiating.  Pallbearers will be Kenny Phillips, Jacob Pearson, Joseph Pearson, Hank Barns, Jon Busbea, Bryce Cox, Chaz Oakes, and Devin Warren.

Mr. Warren will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday.
