Mr. William L. Dobson, age 70 of Trion, GA passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Dobson was born to the late Felton Dobson and Corrine Craig Hurley. He was a master carpenter and pipefitter forman, and he enjoyed fishing, football, watching television, mechanic work, and spending time with his family.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Frankie Blackmon; and siblings, Don Dobson, Patricia Byers, and Brenda Scott.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Nelson Dobson; children, William Matt Dobson (Venessa), Dustin Blackmon (Chandra), Lisa Barfield (Shane), Whitney Matijiw (Wade Smith), and Patches Wilcox (Brian); sisters, Shirley Carpenter, Wanda Russell, and Carol Callan; 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Dobson will be held 3:00 Thursday- September 22 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Barrett officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until the hour of the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Barfield, Jackie Corbin, Lewis Clark, Ray-Ray Ragan, Bryce Blackmon, Trey Bowman, and Wade Smith.
