Mr. William Edward "Billy" Blackmon, Sr., age 74, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Blackmon was born May 13, 1947, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Ed and Eula Mae Hill Blackmon.  He was a retired supervisor with Mohawk Industries and was a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Blackmon loved going to Trade Day and traveling to the mountains.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Blackmon on September 18, 2021; a son, Scotty Blackmon on September 9, 2021; and brothers, Stanford Blackmon and Calvin Blackmon.

Survivors include a son, Billy Blackmon, Jr.; brothers, Gary (Kathy) Blackmon, Johnny (Retha) Blackmon; sisters, Mary Ledford, Wanda (John) Brown; special sister, Mary Henderson; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

In accordance with Mr. Blackmon's wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
