Mr. Bill Crain, age 83, of Menlo, GA, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at his residence after an extended illness.

Mr. Crain was born October 23, 1941, in Trion, GA, son of the late Benjamin Davis Crain and Bertha Lee Vernon Hogg Crain.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a night watchman with the City of Menlo.  He had also previously worked at Best Manufacturing and he had operated Hall's Texaco, one of the last full-service stations in the area.  Mr. Crain enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Hegwood.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Padgett Crain; a daughter, Joy McCary; 2 grandchildren, Ty and Lucas McCary; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Hampton and Rev. Alton Stamey officiating.  Interment will follow in AMI Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Tim Hogg, Roy Padgett, John Mason, Richard Gifford, Mark Padgett, and Tommy Meadows.  Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Cole, Raymond Ware, and the nurses from Heyman Hospice.

Mr. Crain will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday.
