Mr. Tommy Wayne Young, Sr., age 70, of LaFayette, GA, died Monday, September 20, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Young was born August 3, 1951, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Henry "Tom" Young and Margaret Williams Young.  Prior to his retirement, he worked at Color Spectrum as a fixer.  He loved to hunt, fish, and spend his free time at his lake lot.  He loved his family dearly and adored all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Darlene Hawkins Young; and a sister, Kay Wilson.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Tonyu (Mike) Hinton; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy (Kelly) Young, Jaycee (Sandra) Young; sisters, Rose (Steve) Burleson, Anita Young; brothers, LeBron (Glenda) Young, David (Melissa) Adams; grandchildren, Preston (Amber) Harris, Cameron (Khrista) Hinton, William (Brittney) Hurst, Latasha (Jonathan) Hines, Aleigha Young, Alexis (Johnathan) Ash, Brandon Spraggins, and Brianna Spraggins; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 23, 2021, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Lewis officiating.  Interment will follow in Hawkins Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Jabo Burrage, Johnathan Ash, Jonathan Hines, Chuck Akery, Butche Cordle, and Daniel Robinson.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and members of Driftwood Family Campground.

Mr. Young will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Thursday.

Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
