Mr. Ricky Wayne Sims, Sr., age 65, of Lyerly, GA, died Thursday, December 4, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Sims was born January 4, 1960, in Lyerly, GA, son of the late J.M. and Betty Hill Sims.  He was Baptist by faith and had been employed in the logging industry.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his siblings, Danny Ray Sims, Hazel Sims Williams, Susie Ray, Charlotte Carol, and Timmy Sims.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Sims; children, Joey (Tiffany) Dempsey, Casey (Gayla) Dempsey, Amanda (Jeff) Devier, Timmy (Jennie) Ray, Pete Sims, Turp (Miranda) Williams, and Kelly (Jason) Forrest; a brother, Randy (Kennie) Sims; sisters, Kim Chaves, Linda Hunt; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Shaver officiating.  Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Randy West, Scott Hughes, Jim Wright, Derick Wilkins, Turp Williams, and Rodney Dempsey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kamden Parish, Cody Stewart, Landon Dempsey, Jason Forrest, and Stevie Lingerfelt.

Mr. Sims will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive family and friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Sunday.
