Mr. Michael "Mike" Dean Sweeney, age 67 of Rome, GA passed away Thursday – July 29, 2021 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Sweeney was born February 26, 1954 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Dean and Lillian Roderigues Sweeney. He was a Vietnam veteran proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a retired carpenter. He was a born again Christian of the Baptist faith, enjoyed helping people in need and making other people laugh.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Pat Sweeney.

Survivors include his children, Mikey Sweeney, Christopher Kandcer, Kristen Jesse, and Jason Sweeney; sister, Dale Fuller; and several grandchildren.

A memorial service with military honors to celebrate the life of Mr. Sweeney will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday – Aug 4, 2021 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Chaplain Steve Burns officiating.
