Mr. Lamar "Marty" Boyd age 58 of Summerville, GA passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 7, at his residence.
Mr. Boyd was born January 31, 1967 in Summerville, GA to the late James Sr. and Carol Price Boyd. Marty was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend who's kindness and laughter touched everyone who knew him. He was retired from Best Manufacturing and also worked at Chattooga County Public Works. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending church at Pentecostal Power Ministries and tinkering with small projects. He was a loving and caring man who was always willing to help anyone, even after his health began to decline.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his nephew Joey Myers; and niece, Hope Boyd.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Keef Boyd; daughter, Lindsey (Jerry) Eller; granddaughter, Gracie Eller; brothers, Chuck (Stacy) Boyd, Junior (Margie) Boyd, and Ricky (Amy) Boyd; extended family members, Laura Sisemore, Mike Keef, Tammy Hill, Ashley (David) Robinson, Cooper and Adaline Robinson, fur baby Gbugg, John B, Christie & belle Williams, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Boyd will take place at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 12 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Boyd and Rev. Steve Collins officiating. A private family interment will follow at Lyerly Cemetery with Cody Boyd, Rickey Boyd, Tyler Boyd, Chuck Boyd, Junior Boyd, Mike Keef, and Jerry Eller serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be "Sue Baby" Miller, Don Mason, members of Pentecostal Power Ministries, Sid Bandy, Allen Boyd, Wayne Boyd, Terry Eller, Jason Gilliland, and Jeff Dotson,
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made directly to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
