Mr. Joe Hardin Cox, age 87, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, April 7, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Cox was born May 6, 1934, in Berryton, GA, son of the late John and Eunice Kellett Cox.  He was of the Baptist faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Georgia Kraft.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his daughter, Natashia Cox; brothers, Roy Cox, John Cox, Tom Cox, Max Cox, and Ben Cox.

Survivors include his wife, Dean McDonald Cox; and grandchildren, Javan Cox and Megan Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 10, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Harris officiating.  Interment will follow in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Randy McDonald, Rex McDonald, Brian Payton, Darryl Payton, Tad Allen, and Chuck Cox.  Honorary pallbearers will be Farrell Allen, Jimmy Scruggs, Carlton Reynolds, Korey Edwards, and Evan Farrow.

Mr. Cox will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
