Mr. David Eugene Padgett, age 67, of Trion, GA, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Padgett was born April 3, 1954, in Rome, GA, son of the late Fred Griffin Padgett and Dolly Roberta Maddox Padgett.  He was of the Baptist faith and prior to his retirement, worked as a millwright.  Mr. Padgett was a singer/song writer and musician and enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shanda Flippen Padgett; and sister, Mary Lois Turnipseed.

Survivors include son, Cameron Matthew (Myra Kathleen) Padgett; daughter, Angela (Daniel) Stoker; sister, Jackie Turnipseed; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 24, 2022, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Burns officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Justin Thompson, Kenneth Thompson, Danny Stoker, Josh Ashworth, Marcus Murphy, and Nathan Murphy.

Mr. Padgett will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Monday.

Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
