Mr. Ben Cox, age 84, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Etowah Landing.

Mr. Cox was born January 6, 1938, in Summerville, GA, son of the late John R. and Eunice Kellett Cox.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Bigelow Sanford and Montgomery Knitting.  He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Roy Cox, John Cox, Raymond "Tom" Cox, and Max Cox.

Survivors include his brother, Joe (Dean) Cox; grandchildren, Megan Cox and Javan Cox; sisters-in-law, Alice Cox, Peggy Cox; and other family members, Chuck Cox, Shelia McGuire, Mary John Hendrix, Brad McGuire, Caleb McGuire, Cheryl Bumgarner, Leslie McGuire, Mellisa Cox, Sierra Cagle, Matthew Cox, and Starla Cox.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Lyerly Cemetery with Rev. Billy Wright officiating.  Pallbearers will be nephews.  Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery at 11:45 A.M. on Wednesday.

There will be no visitation.

Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
