It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mindy Ann Jackson, age 63, of Knoxville, TN. She died peacefully February 28, 2023, with family at her side.
She was born December 4, 1959, to James A. and Patricia J. Jackson at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA. Mindy graduated from Gaylesville High School in 1978. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and her Associate's degree from Pellissippi State.
Mindy was a Knoxville, TN resident since 1996 and was employed at UT Conferences-Knoxville since 1999. She was a die-hard Vols fan, attending football and basketball games with season tickets. Go Vols!
Mindy loved her dogs, Snickers and Bentley. She was an animal lover who spent many days volunteering with rescue groups transporting dogs and other animals to their furever homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. Jackson and Patricia J. (Philip) Mallory; grandparents, Grady and Gartrelle Jackson, Robert D. and Grace B. Elkins; and a sister, Margaret K. Swan.
Survivors include her sister, Cindy (Paul) Clemmons; brother, Robert (Pam) Jackson; nephews, Heath (Karie) Hill, Timothy Swann, Levi (Kim) Jackson, Paul Clemmons, Sean Clemmons; nieces, Heather Shedd, Courtney (Josh) Munnell; and several great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lawrence Center in Menlo, GA, on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 1:00 until 5:00 P.M. for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity or one of Mindy's rescue groups found on Facebook: Burt's Brigade, Juno's Place, Rosita's Way, Small Breed Rescue of East Tennesse (SBRET), or to Ovarian Cancer Research.
The family would like to thank Transitions Hospice Care Team including nurse Heather, aide Mary, and Chaplain Keith for their care and support.
