Mrs. Gail Wilborn, age 88, of Trion, GA, went to her heavenly home on August 11, 2026, after a long illness and was joyously reunited with those who went before her.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, Mimi, and Nanny, aunt, and special friend to all who knew her.  She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren she loved so dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jimmy Wilborn, whom she married as a young woman in 1955.  She also reunited with her son, Brad Wilborn and her daughter-in-law, Marianne Wilborn, along with her parents, Allison and Burma Chandler, and her ten brothers and sisters, as well as an assortment of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wilborn warmly welcomed all into her home and insisted on feeding everyone who came to call.  She remained close with a wide range of church members from the churches she and her husband served over a span of 60 years, and thought of them all as extended family.

She will be missed by those she leaves behind; her daughter, Jan Andrews; grandchildren, Lee and Katie Tanner, Chase Wilborn and Shana Lynn Blair, Jay and Asia Wilborn; great-grandchildren, Kensley Tanner, Cohen Wilborn, Jace Wilborn, and Jenna Jackson.  She will also be missed by special nieces she loved and always enjoyed spending time with, Vicky Dawson and Tammy Owings.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilborn will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 14, 2026, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Lee Tanner, Jay Wilborn, Michael Humphrey, Chase Wilborn, Terry Eller, and Mark "Perk" Schrader.

Private interment will be held at a later time in West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilborn will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Friday.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of Atrium Floyd Health, Artie, Beth, and Steven with Adoration Home Health Services and Heyman Hospice of Rome.
