Mrs. Sandra Gail (Kirk) Ales

Mrs. Sandra Gail Kirk Ales, age 72, of Dalton, GA, passed away Monday-November 18, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Ales was born November 1, 1947, in Rossville, GA, daughter of the late C. B. and Carmen Margaree Blaylock Kirk.  She was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Sandra was an advocate for women and children. She championed their cause and worked at the following during her life: Northwest Georgia Support Council, Kids on the Block, Director of N.W. GA Council on Child Abuse, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and the Women’s  Crisis Center.

Mrs. Ales is survived by her husband, David Ales, son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Paula Martin, daughter and son-in-law, Angie and John Cope,  brother, Randy Kirk, sister Susan Kirk Middleton, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ales will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 21, 2019 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Kelvin J. Norton officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery in Henagar, AL.

Mrs. Ales will lie in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday November 20.
