Mrs. Mildred Sue Pemberton, age 79 of Summerville, GA passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at her residence.
Mrs. Pemberton was born December 16, 1939 in Lyerly, GA to the late Joe C. and Edna Dooley Reynolds. She was retired from Mount Vernon Mills and attended North Summerville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pemberton was preceded in death by sisters, Myrtle (Claude) Mathis, Louise (Gene) Stinnett, Annie (Son) Fairchild; brothers, Johnny (Elsie) Reynolds, Frank (Frances) Reynolds, J.D. (Geneva) Reynolds, Harley (Ruby) Reynolds, Bobby Dooley, and David Reynolds; and a grandson, Cody Lee Reynolds.
Survivors include her daughters, Penny (Danny Ray) Cavin and Kay (Nora) Rogers, Karen (Wayne) Popham, Sheila Toles, and Dianne (Ben) Lively; sister, Darlene (Jim) Tilson; sister-in-laws, Bea Reynolds and Jewell Dooley; grandchildren, Jason (John David) Cavin, Amanda (Lewis) Grace, Dusty (Brittany) Cavin, Candi (Germaine) Cook, Leslie (Michael) Cook-Bevels, Jonathon (Taylor) Reynolds, Ciera (J.J.) Reynolds, Angela (Robert) Johnson, Tonya (Adam) Hogue, Tabitha Brown, Tristan Lively, Kristian (Ray) Godfrey, Lesa Debenport, Shyla Popham, Kelly Washington, Kim (Ricky) Stoner, and Conrad Toles; great-grandchildren, Dylan Cavin; Nicholas, Madison, Ashlyn, and Lucas Grace; Mackenzie, Hayden, and Karlee Cavin; Zoey, Zander, Zayden Cook; Braxson, Brynlee, and Briley Cook-Bevels; Christopher (Lindsay), Katie (Amber), and Ty Godfrey, Devan and Zain Debenport; Abbie (Dakota) Lee; Garrett and Dawson Sparks; Kaitlyn Johnson; Drew Tucker; Xavier and Xander Hogue; Kejuan, Wayne, Heighley, and Holly Popham; Maddie, Bryson, Allison, and Jason Washington; great-great-grandchildren, Heaven Godfrey, Brantley Tucker, and arriving soon, Baby A & B Lee twins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pemberton will be at 2:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2019, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tony Reynolds, Don Reynolds, Trevor Webb, and Ben Ledford, Germaine Harris, and Michael Bevels. Honorary pallbearers will be Joyce Blankenship, Angie Bagley, Evon Woods, Brenda Brock, Bea Reynolds, and the staff of Tapestry Hospice.
Mrs. Pemberton will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday.
