Mrs. Mattie Frances "Fran" (Evans) VanHorn

Mrs. Mattie Frances “Fran” VanHorn, age 89, of Rome, GA, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. VanHorn was born October 4, 1928, in Rome, GA, daughter of the late Harlin Lee and Melia Octivia Tudor Evans.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Ryan’s.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard VanHorn; sisters, Ruth Henley and Glenis Miller; a brother, Bobby Evans; step-son, Mark VanHorn; nephews, Keith Bearden and Tim Evans; and a niece, Michele Dunn.

Mrs. VanHorn is survived by her brother and sisters-in-law, Homer and Lieu Evans, Frances Evans; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Gerald Bearden, JoAnn Anderson, and Faye Nell and Tom Byrd; step-daughters, Chris Prodan and Cindy Perrin; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. VanHorn will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 22, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Norton officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. VanHorn will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Saturday.
