Mrs. Louise (Dooley) Norton

Mrs. Louise Dooley Norton, age 88, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at her residence.

Mrs. Norton was born March 26, 1930, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late William Floyd Dooley and Lillie Mae Whisenant Dooley.  She was a member of South Summerville Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Sun Mountain Nursing Home.  Mrs. Norton earned an associate’s degree in Biblical Studies.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Norton, Sr.; and a sister, Nellie Marks.

Mrs. Norton is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert “Lefty” and Yvonne Norton, Ladell and Vickie Norton, Rev. Kenneth and Drusilla Norton; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Greg Willingham, Kate and David Helms; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Norton will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 22, 2018, from the South Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Norton, Rev. Stanley Smith, and Bro. David Craven officiating.  Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Chuck Norton, Chandler Norton, Chip Norton, Jack Hollis, Will Marks, Rusty Dooley, John Head, and David Tidmore.  Honorary pallbearers will be Denette Carmon and the members of Shining Light Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Norton will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:30 P.M. Friday.
