Mrs. Ila Bee Gilreath Cherry, age 92 of Summerville passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Cherry was born July 18, 1925 in Trion, GA to the late Thomas Warren and Mary Braddy Gilreath. She was retired from Best Manufacturing where she worked as a sewing supervisor, and where she was a member of the Silver Club. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Cherry was preceded in death by her husband; James R. “Jim” Cherry, sisters; Carmen Keith and Leona Hill, brothers; Cecil Gilreath, Faye Gilreath, Winton Gilreath, and Coy Gilreath, along with several nephews.

She is survived by her daughters; Pat Gilliland and Joy (Ross) Gallagher, grandchildren; Ryan and Jennifer Gravley, Chris Gallagher, and Kate Gallagher, and great-grandchild; Jaxon Gravley.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Cherry will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 4, 2017, from the Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Joel Smith and Rev. Brent Madaris officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Ryan Gravley, Joel Smith, Ross Gallagher, and Chris Gallagher.  Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Amedysis Home Health Care.

The family respectfully requests no food, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund.
