Mrs. Gladys P. (Simmons) Hardee

Mrs. Gladys P. Hardee, age 92, of Summerville, GA passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Gladys was born April 16, 1925, in Lafayette, GA, the daughter of the late Fred and Amanda Jones Simmons.  She was a member of the Lookout Hall Church of Christ and was a loving mother and housewife.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Hardee; a son, Fred White; brothers, Avery Simmons, Ervin Simmons, Irey Simmons, and Dee Simmons; sisters, Glenda Bee Clinton and Grace Forrest.

Mrs. Gladys is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Harold A. and Shirley White, Ronald B. and Babs White; a daughter, Bonnie L. Clift; sister, Elsie Simmons; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Eddie Clift, Bengi Clift, Dustin Clift, Matt White, Elijah Clift, and Alex Walker.  Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Oakview Health and Rehabilitation. 

Mrs. Gladys will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

The family respectfully requests no food, and in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Activity Fund at Oakview Health and Rehab, care of Tammy Ledford.
