Mrs. Betty Katherine (Drummond) Bethune

Mrs. Betty Katherine Bethune, age 82, of Trion, GA, died Thursday, August 22, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Bethune was born October 20, 1936, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Homer and Althea Smith Drummond.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Trion Heights Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bethune was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne Bethune; brother, Jackie Drummond; and sister, Sue Clapper.

Mrs. Bethune is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark (Febra) Bethune; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Naughton (Russell Tonning), Cheri (John) Jett, Michelle (Ray) Bicknell; grandchildren, Matt (Kim) Campbell, Alex (Jamie) Naughton, Samantha Wood, Logan Bicknell, Maci Bicknell, and Jordanne Bethune; great-grandchildren, Joshua Campbell, Isobel Campbell, and James Campbell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bethune will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 25, 2019, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Johnson and Dr. Matt Campbell officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Russell Tonning, John Jett, Ray Bicknell, Alex Naughton, Matt Campbell, and Logan Bicknell.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies’ Sunday School Class at Trion Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bethune will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Sunday.
