Mrs. Betty Lou Johnson, age 81, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, September 30, 2017, at her residence.

Mrs. Johnson was born March 6, 1936, in Halton, AL, daughter of the late J. T. “Jake” and Bessie Turner Pledger.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Perennial Springs Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Jerryl Smith; brother, Pat Pledger; and a great-granddaughter, Paisley Fulmer.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Jerry C. “Buck” Johnson; son, Dennis Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Harold Pollard; brothers and sisters-in-law, T. C. and Beatrice Pledger, Bob and Elaine Pledger, Artis and Trish Pledger, Bill and Jenny Pledger; sister and brother-in-law, Gay Nell and Gary Shaw; sister-in-law, Shirley Pledger; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Pledger officiating.  Interment will follow in the Perennial Springs Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Allen Elrod, Randy Johnson, Brad Johnson, Jimmy Pledger, Daryl Pledger, Greg Shaw, and Adam Pledger.  Honorary pallbearers will be all nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Johnson will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Tuesday.
