Mr. Vester Huland Davenport

Mr. Vester Huland Davenport, age 93, of Rome, GA, (formerly of Trion) died Friday, November 15, 2019, at Pruitt Healthcare of Rome.

Mr. Davenport was born January 1, 1926, in Blue Ridge, GA, son of the late Huland Burg and Lula Conley Davenport.  He was a member of Dry Valley Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.  Mr. Davenport also served as a Corporal with the United States Army.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Tallent Davenport; brothers, Wayne Davenport, Ernest Davenport, J. B. Davenport, Charles Davenport, and Joe Davenport; sisters, Mae Hayes and Ruth Cochran.

Mr. Davenport is survived by his son, James (Linda) York; daughters, Mary Y. Hudson, Susan Edwards (Johnny Martin); a brother, Floyd Davenport; sisters, Lola Bailey, Betty Aaron, and Bertie Lee Sheilds; 3 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Graveside and interment services for Mr. Davenport will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 18, 2019, at Greenhills Memory Gardens with Rev. John Uldrick officiating.  Pallbearers will be Junior Davenport, Jerry Davenport, Ricky Davenport, Willis Davenport, Ron Cochran, and David Bailey.

Mr. Davenport will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 A.M. Monday.
