Mr. Ray Richard Chamlee

Mr. Ray Richard Chamlee, age 94, of Summerville, GA, passed away Sunday- December 16, 2018, at the residence of his daughter in Summerville.

Mr. Chamlee was born August 31, 1924, in Henagar, AL, the son of the late W.T. and Nellie Bunch Chamlee.  He was retired from E.T. Barwick Mill and Mt Vernon Mill.  Mr. Chamlee was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII, a member of the American Legion, and North Summerville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Wooten Chamlee in March of 2007.

Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Ella and Roger Townsend, sons & daughter-in-law, William & Betty Chamlee, Richard Chamlee, sister, Ruth Collette, 5 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday- December 19, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Garden with military honors provided by the Shanklin-Attaway American Legion Post 5 Honor Guard.  Active pallbearers will be, Bobby Patterson, Drew Asher, Sam Narmore, Roger Townsend, David Gufford, and Richard Gufford.  Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Amethyst Home Health Care.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 – 8:00 at Mason Funeral Home.
