Mr. Preston "Pete" Hampton

Mr. Preston “Pete” Hampton, age 72, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Hampton was born April 21, 1946, in Hollywood, AL, son of the late William Chaplain Hampton and Julia Jane Adams Hampton.  He was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship of Dalton.  Mr. Hampton founded and was the owner and operator of Hampton Refrigeration.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Leon Hampton; and a sister, Frances Jones.

Mr. Hampton is survived by his wife of 54 years, Paula Owens Hampton; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Joy Hampton; daughter and son-in-law, Janine and Jesse Sisk; brother, David Hampton; sisters, Elizabeth Riddle, Beatrice Nichols, Hazel Hampton, Barbara Spencer, Min Lau Tritton, and Doris Hampton; grandchildren, Brittany Sisk and Cooper Hampton.

Funeral services for Mr. Hampton will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 17, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Redwine and Pastor Ron Sowder officiating.  Entombment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Vernon Bond, Denny Smith, Frankie Jones, Charles Latta, Phillip Cox, Wayne Pace, and J.R. Kennett.  Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Grace Christian Fellowship of Dalton.

Mr. Hampton will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday.
