Mr. Johnny "Digger" Wayne Tucker

Mr. Johnny Wayne “Digger” Tucker, age 56, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, August 22, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Tucker was born May 7, 1963, son of the late Jerry and Madolyn Morgan Tucker.  He was Baptist by faith and owned and operated Johnny’s Grave Service for several years.  He was known as “Digger” and worked as a gravedigger with numerous funeral homes in Northwest Georgia, Northeast Alabama, and Tennessee.  Mr. Tucker was an avid University of Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan and was an amateur boxer.  He loved to sing and dance with his wife, Mary.  He loved to entertain, make people smile, and never met a stranger.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Tucker; and niece, Kristol Lane Tucker.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his loving wife, Mary A. Myers Tucker; son and daughter-in-law, Jesse (Taryn) Roberts; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer (Barry) Horne, Kara (Steven) Kachurak, and Johnna Tucker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy (Sissy) Tucker, Danny Ray Tucker, and Josh (Tasha) Tucker; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette Tucker (Rodney) Clark; grandchildren, Abbie, Kadyn, Emory, Lilly, Lexi, Destiny, Duston, Trinity, and Baby Ella; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dianne “Maw Maw” Crowe.

Funeral services for Mr. Tucker will be held at 4:30 P.M. (E.S.T.) Sunday, August 25, 2019, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Day and Bro. Ronnie Highfield officiating.  Interment will follow in Weiss Lake Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be the Employees of Johnny’s Grave Service and nephews; Edwin “Kebo” Smith, Steven Eaves, Jimmy Hadcock, David Martin, Kerry Tucker, and Jerry Lane Tucker.  Honorary pallbearers will be the owners and employees of all local area funeral homes.

Mr. Tucker will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Saturday, August 24, 2019.
