Mr. Jimmy Wright

Mr. Jimmy Wright, age 80, of Lawrenceville, GA, died Friday, November 30, 2018, at Gwinnett Medical Center.

A native of Chattooga County, Mr. Wright was born April 27, 1938, in Trion, GA, son of the late Grover Cleveland and Minnie Eleanor Wright.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  Prior to his retirement in 1994, was employed with General Motors after 31 years of service.  He was a member of the Chamblee-Sardis Masonic Lodge # 444 F. & A.M. and the Yaarab Shrine Club in Atlanta, GA, prior member of the Tucker Shrine Club and rode with the Dume Cats in the Shrine parades.     He also enjoyed coaching little league baseball. Mr. Wright was a member of the North Metro Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was preceded in death by brothers, Carmon Wright, Paul Wright, Alvis Wright, and Fred Wright; sisters, Elsie Cooper, Ruth Martin, and Catherine Chamlee.

Mr. Wright is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth Callan Wright; son, Chuck Wright; daughter, Ashley (Shelton) Story; sister, Jane Bishop; and a granddaughter, Logan Wright.

Funeral services for Mr. Wright will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 6, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Frank Cox officiating.  Interment will follow in Bankhead Cemetery.  Active pallbearers, Ralph Wright, Randy Bishop, Clay Callan, David Wright, Earl Callan, Jim Wright, Shane Callan, Kenny Chamblee, Roland Terry.

Mr. Wright will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
