Mr. James "Shorty" Turner

Mr. James Alfred “Shorty” Turner, age 92, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, April 2, 2018, in Cartersville, GA.

Mr. Turner was born October 28, 1925, in Aragon, GA, son of the late Melvin and Cleo Turner.  He was Church of God by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Bigelow-Sanford.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della Jo SmithTurner; sons, Bradley Turner and Jerry Turner; and a daughter, Sherry Turner Scott.

Mr. Turner is survived by his grandchildren, Robby (Michelle) Hill; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Hill, Carson Hill, and Chloe Hill; brother, Bobby Turner; half-sisters, Jennifer Childers, Margaret Myers, and Betty Meeks.

Graveside and interment services for Mr. Turner will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, from Summerville Cemetery with Rev. Kevin J. Norton officiating. 

Mr. Turner will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour Wednesday.
