Mr. Frank Eugene Cranmore, age 78, of Lyerly, GA, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Cranmore was born April 12, 1939, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Eugene Cranmore and Lenora Whisenant Gayler. He attended Sardis Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, worked as a retail manager with Wal-Mart. Mr. Cranmore served as the Chief of the Lyerly Volunteer Fire Department, was the former owner and operator of Crawford Hardware in Lyerly, and was the former manager of Chandler Ace Hardware in Trion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-brother, Jerry King.
Mr. Cranmore is survived by his wife, Helen McDonald Cranmore; sons, Ken Cranmore and Eddie Flickinger; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Todd Sprayberry; brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Faye Gayler, Charles and Caroline Cranmore, Bruce and Susan Cranmore, Roger and Kathy King; sisters, Barbara Wyatt, Ellen McWhorter, Ruth Fleet (Jim Quarles), Susan Gayler, Ethel and Ronnie Hawn; grandchildren, Blake Thrasher and Trey Thrasher; great-grandchildren, Hudson Thrasher, Avery Thrasher, Harper Thrasher, and Liam Thrasher; special sisters-in-laws and friends, Becky Brown and Dennis Crane, Martha Drake and Billy Knight.
Funeral services for Mr. Cranmore will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Teague officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyerly Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John McDonald, Joey Carnes, Eric Brown, Eugene Brown, John Crawford, and Ronnie Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Wal-Mart, the members of Sardis Baptist Church, Harold Ragland, Wilburn Ragland, and Hoyt Williams.
Mr. Cranmore will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 26, 2018.
