Mr. Erick "Tom" Wayne Brown

Mr. Erick Wayne “Tom” Brown, age 79, of Gaylesville, AL, died Friday, December 7, 2018, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Brown was born February 26, 1939, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Elgin Dewey and Connie Jewell Phillips Brown.  He was a member of Centre First United Methodist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing.  He was a member of Alpine Lodge # 211 F&AM, the Chattooga Shrine Club, and a lifetime member of the Cherokee County Rescue Squad.  He also served as a Scoutmaster for many years with B.S.A. Troop 102 in Menlo.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a sister, Robin Brown; and a brother-in-law, Tom Ochs.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Joyce Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Ashley Brown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewey and Barbara Brown, Tarzan Brown, Doyle and Joyce Brown, and Gary Brown; a sister, Anise Ochs; and grandchildren, Annabelle Brown and Brantley Brown.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held at 3:00 P.M. (E.T.) Monday, December 10, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Davis and Rev. Jimmy Hall officiating.  Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Chuck Harris, Lynn Hall, Tim Brown, Mike Dodd, John Michael Martin, and Jackie Pritchett.  Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Alpine Lodge # 211 F&AM, and the Chattooga Shrine Club.

Mr. Brown will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. (E.T.) Sunday.
