Mr. Bobby Henry Bankston

Mr. Bobby Henry Bankston, age 76, of Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Bankston was born March 27, 1942, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Michael and Christina Murphy Bankston.  He was a member of the West Fifth Street Church of Christ, and prior to his retirement, was self-employed in the construction industry.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Bankston was preceded in death by his brothers, Benny Bankston, Jack Byron, Jesse O’Neal Bankston, William Bankston, and Calvin Byron; sisters, Laura Byron, Maybell Mormen, and Betty Bankston.

Mr. Bankston is survived by his wife, Jessie Kirby Bankston; sons, Phillip Bankston, Tracy Bankston, Ricky Bankston, Torey Bankston, and Dana Bankston; and daughters, Pamela Bond and Alisha Bankston; brothers, Jesse James Bankston and Mactine Bankston; a sister, Doris Shephard; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Bankston will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, March 25, 2019, from the West Fifth Street Church of Christ with Min. Jesse Bankston officiating.  Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mr. Bankston’s sons.

Mr. Bankston will be in state at the West Fifth Street Church of Christ and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Monday.
