Mr. Arthur Jackson “Jack” Rinehart, age 95, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at his daughter’s residence in Jenson Beach, FL.
Jack was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Philip Rinehart; and his loving wife of 71 years, Annie Laura Rinehart.
Jack was born May 25, 1924, in Cherokee County, Alabama. He grew up on a big farm in Alabama where he learned that hard work paid off. He loved working with his hands and could repair or “fix” anything he put his mind to. Jack loved working on cars and growing a beautiful vegetable garden in his yard in Georgia.
Jack and his family began attending First Bible Methodist Church in Chattanooga in the 50’s. He served on the church board and also taught an adult men’s Sunday School class for many years. Jack had a beautiful tenor voice and often sang specials at church.
He worked in Chattanooga for Prebul Motors as the service department Manager for many years and received many certificates of commendation.
Jack moved his family to Hobe Sound, Florida in 1972 so his children could attend Hobe Sound Bible School. He was employed as a grounds keeper and overseer of maintenance at a home on Jupiter Island.
During his time in Florida, Jack traveled on Sundays to the Jamaican work camps and some Sundays to the Belle Glade Penitentiary to minister with the students from the Hobe Sound Bible College.
After returning to Georgia in 1980 both Jack and Ann continued to help with various needs in the church; this included helping with maintenance and cleaning. Throughout the years they were both very supportive of the different pastors who came to minister at the church.
Jack is survived by three children, David Rinehart and his wife Carol of Columbia, SC, Rachel (Rinehart) McClain and her husband Jonathan of Jensen Beach, Fl and Mary Rinehart of Jensen Beach, Fl. Two granddaughters, Heidi Rinehart-Jacobs & Tyler Jacobs of Greenville, SC. and Michelle Carney of Vero Beach, Fl., two grandsons, Jay and Andrew McClain and three beautiful great-grandchildren.
