Mrs. Patsy Jean McCollum Thomas, age 80, of Summerville, GA, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at her residence.
Mrs. Thomas was born April 16, 1937, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late William Henry and Rosa Whitley McCollum. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Mount Vernon Mills. Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She reflected such characteristics as generosity, sacrifice, long-suffering, and hospitality. Her humble spirit was shown in her concern and devotion to those who needed a friendly ear. Her joy in life was being surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ralph A. Thomas, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Frank McCrickard.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Alex Thomas, Todd Henry (Angie) Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Faith (Brian) Robinson; sister, Peggy McCrickard; grandchildren, Joy (Chris) Youngman, John (Stacey) Robinson, Callie Thomas, and Cole Thomas; great-grandchild, Jackson Robinson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 1, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Robinson, Rev. Billy Dempsey, and Rev. Howard Odom officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Robinson, Cole Thomas, Chris Youngman, Colby Helms, Doug Farmer, and Trey Skelton.
Mrs. Thomas will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until the hour of service on Thursday.
