Mrs. Marilyn Augusta Raines Matyas, age 82, of Trion, GA, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Matyas was born November 2, 1934, in Summerville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Lewis Monroe and Jewel Loraine Akins Hammitt.  She was a member of the South Summerville Baptist Church and the Eastern Star Chapter 434. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James C. Raines, her second husband, Robert N. Matyas, and a son, James Randy Raines

Survivors include her children; Michael and Mary Ann Raines, Steve and Annette P. Raines, brother; Stanley Hammitt, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday July 31, 2017 at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Danny Raines, Leevi Raines, Brian Hall, Glenn McMahan, Bruce Copelalnd, and Bill Hubbard.  Honorary  pallbearers will be the Staff and employee’s of the Pruitt Health Care.

Mrs. Matyas will  be in state at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel and the family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
