Mrs. Dianne Yvonne Hamrick, age 62, of Gaylesville, AL (formerly of Douglasville, GA), died Monday, January 16, 2017, at her residence.

Mrs. Hamrick was born September 20, 1954, in Asheville, NC, daughter of Roma Yvonne Biggs and the late James Weldon Flynn.  Prior to her retirement, she worked as a tax preparer.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  She also had the ability to make beautiful crafts, was self-taught to sew, and enjoyed sewing and making things. 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Cary “DeCee” Hamrick; and a brother, James Dale Flynn.

Mrs. Hamrick is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Bruce Hicks, Dianne and David Wilson; mother and step-father, Roma and Al Bertram; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Tommy Emeott, Donna and Jay Stoudt, and DeeDee Russo; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mrs. Hamrick will be held at 1:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Friday, January 20, 2017, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Doug Hicks, family, and friends officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at Mason Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon (E.S.T.) until the hour of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
