Mrs. Betty Jo Hendrix, age 79, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Hendrix was born March 27, 1936, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late A.L. and Mary Lou Nelson Alred.  She was a homemaker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Martin "Ted" Hendrix; siblings, Gordon Alred, Shelby Alred, Arthur Alred, Elliott Alred, James Alred, Richard Alred, Dorothy Hughes, Frances Glenn, Margaret Easter Warren, and Mary Sue Vernon.

Mrs. Hendrix is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Michael Hegwood; brothers, Eugene Alred and Earl Alred; and a granddaughter, Emily Hegwood.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hendrix will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 15, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Harkins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Pallbearers will be David Alred, Phillip Alred, Jack Biggers, Lonnie Smith, Charles Oliver, and Byron Hegwood.

Mrs. Hendrix will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
