Mrs. Ava S. Worthy, age 95, of Stone Mountain, GA, died Thursday, December 1, 2016, at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Worthy was born December 10, 1920, in Stone Mountain, GA, daughter of the late Andrew Irvin Smith and Katie Lee Smith.  She was Baptist by faith, and prior to her retirement at age 87, she was employed with Ila Garmon Beauty College as a Cosmetology Instructor.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon Worthy.

Mrs. Worthy is survived by her sons, Mike Worthy, Steve Worthy, and Doug Worthy; a daughter, Becky Roberts; a sister, Ann McAbee; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Worthy will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from the Floral Hills Memory Gardens located at 3000 Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker, GA.
