Mrs. Alice Druceil Adkins, age 85, of Cloudland, GA, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Adkins was born February 14, 1932, in Cloudland, GA, daughter of the late William Herbert Holbrook and Bessie Mae Stoker Durham.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Adkins; daughter, Charity Clark; brothers, Frank Holbrook, Dalmous Holbrook; sisters, Mary Jane Holbrook, Sharon Rebecca Holbrook; and a granddaughter, Julie Ann Rape.

Mrs. Adkins is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Allen and Janis; daughters and son-in-law, Mary and Joseph Rape, Opal Deering, and Sara Aldridge; brothers, Virgil Holbrook, Lebron Holbrook, and Ronnie Durham; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Adkins will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 20, 2017, from the Mount Olive Cemetery with Mr. Jimmy Holbrook officiating.  Active pallbearers will be grandsons.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Franky Bowman, Charlie “B” Ballinger, and the staff of Oakview Health and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Adkins will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. on Friday.
