Mr. Robert John Burton, age 72, of Rock Spring, GA, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Atlanta V.A. Medical Center.

Mr. Burton was born August 14, 1943, in Queens, NY, son of the late Charles Benjamin and Grace Francis O'Brien Burton.  He was a member of the Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church, and prior to his retirement, was a self-employed truck driver.  He was also a veteran of the United States Navy having served in Vietnam.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Benjamin Burton.

Mr. Burton is survived by his wife, Teresa Burton; daughter, Jackie Christine Portwood; brother, William Amos Burton; and a granddaughter, Tessa Raye Portwood.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, May 20, 2016, from the West Hill Cemetery with Father Robert Schuler officiating.
