Mr. Marvin Fate Angles, age 92, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the residence of his daughter.
Mr. Angles was born July 1, 1925, in Greensboro, GA, son of the late William Mathes and Susie Beland Angles. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. He was Baptist by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills. In addition to his parents, Mr. Angles was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Hudgins Angles; a grandson, Clinton Fate Angles; a great-granddaughter, Chelsea Lenn Gilliland; and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Angles is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kaye Angles; daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Charles Scoggins; grandsons, Jim Gilliland and Jason Gilliland; great-grandchildren, Mason Gilliland, McKensie Gilliland and James Madison “Tad” Gilliland III.
Graveside and interment services for Mr. Angles will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 15, 2018, from West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Casey Bramlett officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Gilliland, Jason Gilliland, Charles Scoggins, and Mason Gilliland.
There will be no formal visitation.
