Mr. John Calvin Wright, age 88, of Menlo, GA passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Wright was born June 15, 1927, in DeKalb, AL, the son of the late Juril Thomas and Annie Wright Rape. He was retired from Bigelow-Sanford,  a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Menlo First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Aileen Madaris & Betty Bufford, and his brother; Gene Rape.

Mr. Wright is survived by his wife; Mary Nell Wright, and a son; John Calvin Wright, Jr, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Wright will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday,  May 1, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Dempsey and Rev. Matt Hall officiating.  Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, David Nichols, Ken Scott, Dillon Smith, Steve Smith, Keith Smith, and Jamie Hawkins. Honorary pallerbearers will be Mark Goodson, Mark Borman, Anthony Hudgins, and the men and women of Menlo First Baptist Church.

Mr. Wright will lie in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 Sunday prior to the service.
